The role of the ICCS was to support the development and implementation of the research priorities of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (SECE) and to a large extent to pursue the funding of research through the submission of competitive research proposals within the framework of the European Commission's programs.

Historical Retrospective

The Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (SECE) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) was founded in 1989. The staff of the ICCS consists of research scientists and more than 500 assistant scientists (including PhD candidates). Its founding "Charter" was the conduct of high-quality research, developmental activities and the provision of scientific services to private and public bodies. Essentially, the role of the ICCS was to support the development and implementation of the research priorities of the SECE and to a large extent to pursue the funding of research through the submission of competitive research proposals within the framework of the European Commission's programs.
