On Monday, April 6, 2026 the event entitled "Technology Transfer: Designing the Next Steps in the Greek Ecosystem" was held at ACE of the Athens University of Economics and Business.
The event was organized by Science Agora, in collaboration with the Technology Transfer Networks Γέφυρα Τεχνολογίας, Ρόμβος, SPEIRA+, TETRIS and WINET2, with the support of ΜΕΤΕΧ and under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation (GSRI).
The event opened with brief welcome remarks by the Rector of the Athens University of Economics and Business, Professor Vasileios Vasdekis, and the Deputy Minister of Development, Stavros Kalafatis. The Secretary General for Research and Innovation, Dimitris Terzis, was also present, reaffirming the importance of strengthening innovation and linking research with the market.
The event highlighted critical issues for enhancing technology transfer in the country, focusing on the institutional framework, the adoption of common standards and best practices, as well as intellectual property management and the commercialization of research. At the same time, the perspective of Venture Capital funds was presented, while particular emphasis was given on the funding of Technology Transfer Offices and the challenges they face.
