We created this website with great enthusiasm and dedication to serve as a channel for information and communication regarding the actions and initiatives of Science Agora. By browsing the Science Agora Website (hereinafter, the "Website") and using its features in any manner, you commit to follow and respect these present Terms (hereinafter, the "Terms"), which constitute a binding agreement between you (hereinafter, the "Visitor/s") and the Website Owner (see 1.1). 

By accessing and browsing the Website, you are considered to have read and accepted these Terms. For this reason, we encourage you to read the Terms carefully. 

1. Owner and Contact Information

1.1. The Website belongs to the Science Agora Technology Transfer Network (NCSR Demokritos, ACE Technology Transfer and Innovation Unit – Athens University of Economics and Business, National Technical University of Athens, "Athena" Research Center) and is managed by the ACE Technology Transfer and Innovation Unit of AUEB (hereinafter, the "Administrator"), located at 2 Troias Kimolou & Spetson, 11362, Athens, for the needs of the Network.

2. Scope, Updates, and Modifications

2.1. These Terms govern the access and use of all parts of the Website, all features and functionalities, and all information (such as text, images, audio files, video, etc.) made available on the Website.

2.2. By browsing the Website and/or using its features, Visitors accept and agree to be bound by these Terms. If, at any point in time, Visitors find they no longer agree with these Terms, they must immediately cease accessing, browsing, or otherwise using the Website.

2.3. Certain services or sections of the Website may also be subject to separate terms. If Visitors wish to use such a service or section, they will be separately requested to consent to those additional terms. 

2.4. The Owner reserves the right to change, modify, and/or update all or part of these Terms at any time, with immediate effect. In this event, Visitors will be notified via a pop-up window or banner displayed for thirty (30) days. All Visitors will be considered to have read and accepted the new rules if they continue to browse.  

2.5. The provisions of these Terms are set forth and apply autonomously and independently of one another. If any provision of these Terms is deemed groundless, void, illegal, or voidable (provided that it is legally voided in the latter case), then: (i) that provision shall be interpreted to preserve its validity and in such a way as to become partially valid, to the maximum extent permissible, and shall be valid with any deletion, modification, or reformulation that may be required to be deemed valid and with content as close as possible to the parties' intention, (ii) the validity, legality, and enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not be affected or influenced in any way, and (iii) the voidance of a voidable (only) provision shall not affect the validity, legality, or enforceability of that provision under other circumstances or in other cases of its application.

2.6. These Terms were last updated in December 2025, replacing all previous versions.

3. Purpose of the Website 

3.1. The Website is designed and offered for the following purposes:

1. To inform and promote the actions and initiatives of Science Agora.
2. To provide news, updates, and information to anyone interested in participating in any of these actions.
3. To allow registration and/or expression of interest for anyone who wishes to take part in a Science Agora action.
4. To enable any interested party to contact us using the contact form.
5. To enable any interested party to subscribe to our newsletter. 

3.2. Although there is nothing on the Website that could negatively affect children or young people, nor content that could be considered harmful to minors, the Website is intended for individuals aged 18 or over. By browsing or using the Website, you are considered to be an adult. (For the collection and processing of minors' data via the contact form, please refer to the Privacy Notice.)

3.3. The Owner and the Administrator are not liable, shall not be held responsible, and owe no compensation for any access or use of the Website and/or parts or all of its content for purposes that are illegal or inconsistent with the purposes as described in these Terms.

4. Permitted Use and Visitor Obligations

4.1. The use of the Website is governed by these Terms, the Privacy and Cookies Notices, along with any additional rules/terms that may apply to specific parts/services of the Website, which you are expected to comply with. 

4.2. Without prejudice to term 3.1, Visitors may (and must) use the Website exclusively for purposes consistent with those for which it was created, as described in Article 3.  

4.3. The Website is intended to be used "as is," and unauthorized processing or any kind of unauthorized intervention in its content or functionality is not permitted in any way. We encourage Visitors to contact the Owner if they perceive or suspect any problems with the Website's content or functionality.

4.4. All Visitors agree and declare that they will not use the Website for any unlawful purpose, including, but not limited to, the following:

1. To negatively affect the integrity and functionality of the Website in any way.
2. To use and/or alter the Website content in a manner not permitted under the terms described herein.
3. To negatively affect, attack, or otherwise harm network security, particularly by uploading or attaching files infected with viruses or that are corrupted, or any similar software or programs capable of harming the operation of another user's computer. 
4. To negatively affect, attack, or otherwise impede the access or use of the Website by other users (e.g., by creating, either manually or by automated means, an unusually high number of accesses).
5. To install, distribute, or otherwise promote any kind of automated or non-automated, pop-up, timed or persistent, targeted or random unauthorized advertisement, or any kind of unauthorized marketing material, or unsolicited or unwanted electronic messages (spam), pyramid schemes, or any other kind of unauthorized and unwanted content, marketing/promotional material for products or services, without the prior explicit, written authorization of the Owner.
6. To install, promote, or otherwise disseminate content containing viruses, malware, or any other files, code, or software designed to intercept, destroy, and/or restrict or interfere with the functionality of any software, hardware, or broader ICT component, or in any way prevent other users from visiting the Website.
7. To fraudulently redirect Visitors to other websites.
8. To transmit content that does not comply with the law and/or accepted principles of public order and morality.
9. To mislead anyone regarding the origin of the Website's content and/or to defame, in any way, the Owner, the Administrator, or others.
10. To violate applicable law in any way.
11. To harass Visitors and/or third parties in any way.
12. To collect and/or store personal data of other users.

4.5. In the event of unlawful, fraudulent, or non-compliant use of these Terms, access to the Website may be restricted, and Visitors who engaged in such use may be obliged to compensate the Owner and/or the Administrator for any direct or indirect, material, incidental, and/or consequential damage caused. The failure of the right holders to exercise all or some of the rights provided in these Terms does not imply a waiver of their rights now or in the future.

5. Access and Content

5.1. Accessing and browsing the Website and/or using the Website content is done at your own risk.

5.2. The Owner and the Administrator make every reasonable effort to maintain and ensure the accuracy and completeness of the material contained on the Website and to avoid accessibility problems. Nevertheless, they are not liable and shall not be held responsible for inaccurate information, access problems, downtime, or other events that may occur, causing you direct, indirect, material, incidental, or consequential damage. Accessing and browsing the Website and/or using the Website content is done at your own risk.

5.3. The Owner and the Administrator reserve the right to deny or block access to all or part of the Website and its content, temporarily or permanently, for a specific Visitor or all Visitors at any time and for any reason, including, but not limited to, security reasons, Website maintenance, or violation of the Terms.

5.4. The content of the Website, including all information and material, may be changed, modified, moved, processed, altered, or deleted at any time and for any reason by the Owner, at their sole discretion. However, in all the aforementioned cases, the Visitors' interests will be thoroughly considered.

5.5. With the exception of specific third-party rights (e.g., intellectual property rights), the entire content hosted now or in the future on the Website (including, but not limited to, any marks, graphics, images, representations, trademarks, distinctive signs, photographs, and texts, as well as all types of files) constitutes the exclusive intellectual property of the Owner and/or the Owner's partners and is protected by the provisions of applicable law. 

5.6. Visitors may use the Website content for the purposes and in the ways expressly defined in these Terms. More specifically, Visitors may:

1. Access the information included on the Website for private and non-commercial purposes. 
2. Download and print the information included on the Website for private and non-commercial purposes.
3. Share the content of the Website for non-commercial purposes, provided they accurately display it and cite the Website as their source.

5.7. The content of the Website, in whole or in parts, is not subject to reproduction, copying, downloading, modification, disclosure, distribution, or any kind of dissemination for commercial purposes without the prior written permission of the Owner.

6.1. The Website may redirect Visitors through links and hyperlinks to other websites. If you are redirected to another website, you are no longer subject to these Terms, Privacy, and Cookies Notices. Please note that in this case, the Owner and the Administrator are relieved of all responsibility for the security, legality, validity of the content, privacy policy, or practices of the other website, etc. 

6.2. The fact that you may be redirected to another website via a link or hyperlink does not imply that the Owner and/or the Administrator endorse, recommend, or agree with the content, materials, goods, or services provided or promoted by the other website.

7. Limitation of Liability 

7.1. The Owner and the Administrator are not liable and shall not be held responsible for inaccurate information, access problems, downtime, or other events that may occur, causing you direct, indirect, material, incidental, or consequential damage.

7.2. The Owner and the Administrator are not liable and shall not be held responsible for any access or use of the Website and/or parts or all of its content for purposes that are illegal or inconsistent with the Owner's purposes and intentions as described in these Terms.

8. Conflicts and Applicable Law

8.1. These Terms and any modifications thereto are governed by Greek Law. The courts of Athens are designated as the competent judicial authorities for any dispute that may arise from these Terms.
