1st "Proof of Concept" program of Science Agora

The first part of the "Proof of Concept" program is implemented by the Technology Transfer Hub Science Agora in collaboration with the five scientific organizations that constitute it (Research Centre NCSR Demokritos, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center ACEin – AUEB, National Technical University of Athens, ATHENA Research Centre and the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems - ICCS) and is organized with the support of Google.

The Thematic Areas

The first "Proof of Concept" program focuses on the environment and energy. Considering the greatest challenges of our time related to climate change and environmental burden, the technological developments aimed at preserving the natural environment and reducing emissions, as well as the investments in cutting-edge research and innovation, Science Agora invited business and research teams to submit their business proposal offering solutions to the following "challenges" or addressing the following themes:

Funding for the implementation of the PoC ranges from 15.000 to 40.000 euros based on specific evaluation criteria.

Participation in mentoring sessions and pitching presentations for networking with the market.

Advisory support from experienced market executives for the design and implementation of the PoC in a real environment.

Development of new fruit processing technologies with the aim of extending the shelf life of the fresh product through the application of sustainable and mild processes.

An online cloud-based platform which incorporates all necessary information for the medium voltage network manager of the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator S.A. (HEDNO S.A.), from data originating from Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
