The 2nd phase of the Proof-of-Concept program, carried out by Science Agora, concluded with the pitches of the business ideas from the 19 shortlisted teams.

More specifically, to select the teams that would advance to the next phase, they presented their business proposals to an Evaluation Committee. This committee was formed to assess the teams and consisted of executives with many years of experience, primarily in the environmental and energy sectors.

The five (5) selected teams will receive funding for the implementation of their pilot program with the support of Google.

Throughout the second phase, the teams were supported by Science Agora with coaching and guidance for developing their business ideas.

Support included three training seminars on core topics for developing a business idea; and a "Matchmaking & Networking Event" which was organized with the participation of 25 companies.

Pilot Program Summaries for the 5 Selected Teams:

SciDrones: The goal is to improve the current monitoring process for medium and high-voltage networks. SciDrones will use data collected by UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) to map the networks and create all the necessary geospatial information that will depict the network status and potential malfunctions.

FRESQO: The FRESQO Monitoring Tool is a portable platform that provides accurate information regarding the freshness of seafood (fish and shellfish) in real-time, without direct contact with the sample. This capability is achieved by incorporating cutting-edge technologies, specifically Multispectral Imaging (MSI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and by leveraging a continually expanding, real-time repository.

Run4More: Run4More is the first free application in Greece designed to allow users to record their daily physical activity and be rewarded with points, which can be redeemed at collaborating businesses for vouchers and offers.

Freshit: Guided by the peach value chain, FreshiT proposes the application of mild, sustainable treatments, under the prism of the circular economy, aimed at developing minimally processed peach products with high nutritional content, excellent organoleptic characteristics, minimal sugar content, and improved shelf life.

SILDI: The objective of SILDI is to develop a device that determines the Silt Density Index (SDI)—a critical water quality parameter—in real-time and in situ during water treatment processes, such as reverse osmosis units. This aims to prevent membrane fouling and operational malfunctions with minimal operator intervention.
