Dataphoria
The founding team consists of two individuals, Fenia and Anastasis. Fenia is a Civil Engineer with a master's degree in Environmental Science and has conducted research focusing on the revision of European sustainability indicators. Anastasis, also a Civil Engineer, has dedicated years to data science and is now an experienced Data Scientist with projects centered on utilizing data for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals across various countries. The core team is supplemented by Yiannis, a Sustainability Data Scientist, and supported by advisors experienced in strategy, communication, sustainability, and data technology.
The number of European businesses required to issue detailed annual non-financial reports covering ESG areas is set to increase by 500% in 2024, with even more substantial increases projected for 2026 and 2028. National climate laws create further obligations for businesses and municipalities. Concurrently, consumer pressure on companies to shift toward environmentally friendly services and products is constantly rising. Measuring and monitoring sustainability indicators requires gathering a large volume of data, tracking constantly changing metrics, and clearly demonstrating ESG performance.
At Dataphoria, we are redefining the transition to sustainability by leveraging data. Through an analytics-as-a-service platform dedicated to sustainable development, we accelerate the shift toward sustainability for businesses, organizations, and cities. By combining data science with sustainable development, we offer flexible, simplified solutions for the systematic monitoring, improvement, and communication of ESG performance.
Our main challenges were the integration and initial setup of processing pipelines, given the highly varied nature of data across different companies, and processing different indicators for various reporting frameworks in an appealing and transparent manner.
Through the program, we had the opportunity to view the problem from our customers' perspective, openly discuss their needs, and gain a deeper understanding of the value of our solution and how we can best contribute. Jointly designing the Proof of Concept provided us with significant technical and financial support, ensuring a high-quality and substantive outcome.
